An earthquake struck the city of Tainan, Taiwan at dawn on February 6th.

After a whole day of rescue work, relief workers are still taking turns to search for survivors through the night. Tzu Chi quickly mobilized over 928 volunteers, doctors and nurses to provide emergency medical services, hot meals, and blankets. Volunteers established 15 service centers and throughout the day, Tzu Chi distributed a total of $56,000 USD to 59 families affected by the disaster, and 45 injured survivors being treated in the hospital.
