He was a child soldier during the civil war, and survived that traumatic youth to become a social worker. When Ebola struck, Ishmael Alfred Charles was on the front line to help his people. His deep understanding of social and community development, and his work with our partners Caritas Freetown and Healey International Relief Foundation, were a great support for our charity mission on behalf of all the Ebola survivors in Sierra Leone.
