Ethical Eating Day 2017

January 11, 2017 marked the pinnacle of Tzu Chi’s annual Ethical Eating Day events.

With 309,301 pledges and eight amazing new partners, Ethical Eating Day was a tremendous success!

This movement carries the hefty need to prevent the progression of  climate change at it’s core, and doing so by promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle characterized by ethical, local, and meatless eating. We hope to be able to inspire more people to become informed, to find new venues where they can help not only themselves, but the whole world flourish, and to nurture good health for all creatures that inhabit our lovely planet for years to come.

We’ve received pledges from people all across the globe in support of this movement, and together, we have sought to reach for a better future, one meal at a time.

Climate change and its many effects is a very real concern – one that our volunteers see the effects of all too frequently as they provide disaster relief, and medical assistance. It affects us all. Through adopting a vegan, vegetarian, and locavore lifestyle, we as a society can take a stand in the name of our love for the environment.

This essential need, and the desire to ensure a better world for countless generations, has set the stage for some amazing conversations, and forged incredible partnerships with individuals and businesses who wish to make a difference with us.
