Tzu Chi continues participating in disaster relief in Chico, California with the anticipation of aiding 10,000 families who were affected by the Camp Fire. “In the first week we were able to distribute to about 900 families, and this week our goal is to distribute to 4,000 families and next week we hope to continue this scale so that altogether we can help about 10,000 families,” explains Executive Director, Northwest Region, Tzu Chi USA, Minjhing Hsieh. Residents both tearfully and joyfully express their gratitude for the cash cards and every bit of assistance provided through the foundation. Minjhing Hsieh also notes “This disaster is really the biggest scale that we ever faced but because of so many volunteers determination, [and the] good spirit of this community I’m confident that we can reach our goal to help those survivors to rebuild to recover their community.” Please join our movement and help the Camp Fire evacuees revive their lives.
