Elmhurst Fire Relief

April 14, 2017

|

Disaster Relief

On April 11, 2017, a fire tore through an apartment building in Elmhurst, Queens, all but devouring an entire floor. The intense flames necessitated the action of 200 firefighters, and forced 400 residents from their homes. Now displaced, many remain at PS 13Q for shelter. Volunteers mobilized, preparing hot meals for those affected, and as these residents have lost much to the blaze, volunteers aided in registering residents for financial assistance.
